Guiding Individuals, Couples & Families Toward Healing and Connection
With decades of experience in marriage, family relationships, ministry, and personal development, I offer a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy. My goal is to listen attentively, understand your story, and walk with you toward meaningful and practical solutions tailored to your unique journey.
My path to becoming a therapist began during a challenging period in my own marriage. At the time, I was serving as an associate pastor in a large urban church. In the midst of emotional pain, my wife and I made the courageous decision to seek professional help. That experience not only brought healing to our relationship but also ignited my calling to help others find hope and connection in their own lives.
Credentials & Training
I bring a strong academic and professional foundation to my practice, including:
- B.A. and M.A. from Rutgers University
- Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary
- D.Min. from Palmer Theological Seminary
- Certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy from the Blanton-Peale Institute
- Additional training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) through the International Centre for Excellence in EFT (ICEEFT)
These qualifications, combined with years of hands-on experience, have equipped me to support individuals and couples in building stronger, healthier relationships.
My Approach to Therapy
I integrate emotional insight with practical tools to help you create lasting change. In our sessions, we’ll work together to:
- Understand patterns in your relationships and social systems
- Identify and reframe unhelpful thought habits
- Cultivate emotional awareness and regulation
- Strengthen communication skills through compassionate dialogue
Whether you’re navigating conflict, grief, recovery, or growth, I strive to provide a supportive and respectful space where transformation can take root.
Areas of Specialization
I offer both in-person and virtual counseling for:
- Couples and marriages, including pre-marital counseling
- Individuals facing life transitions, grief, or emotional challenges
- Clergy and clergy couples seeking support
I also lead interactive workshops (half-day or full-day) on topics such as:
- Growing Your Marriage
- Compassionate Communication
- Conflict Resolution
Why I Love This Work
Supporting people as they move from pain to purpose is one of my greatest joys. Each client’s journey motivates me to continue nurturing my own emotional, mental, and relational well-being. I’m honored to walk alongside those who are seeking healing, growth, and deeper connection.
